Video Production

The Video Production unit is located on the lower level of Ramsey Library.  Our office schedules and operates a television studio, preforms post-production video editing, and produces programming 'live-to-tape' in various locations around the UNC Asheville campus.  Services are provided to UNC Asheville faculty, students and administration for academic and university projects only, and taken on a priority basis with Academic Affairs given precedence. These services are provided free of charge.

Video programming is recorded by the Video Production Manager or Video Production student assistants, and captured in Standard Definition with camcorders or professional ENG equipment. Single camera productions can be recorded and edited in High Definition.  Requests should be submitted to the Video Production Manager at least two weeks in advance and will be approved on a priority basis.

Programs are delivered in standard definition DVD format.  Three finished copies are provided free of charge and printed with color labels (presenter, library, sponsoring department). Additional DVD copies can be purchased for $5.00 each, with hand written labels, or $10.00 each with printed color labels. Some programs are not authorized to be duplicated. 

Copies of some campus events as well as events produced by UNC Asheville and broadcast on the Asheville Educational Television channel are available for check out in the Media Browsing Room (RAM 108) on the main level of Ramsey library. All programs are in Standard Definition DVD format.
